Summer kickoff on Tiburon's Main Street

Hundreds of people filled lower Main Street in Tiburon on June 12 for the season’s first Friday Nights on Main festival, timed with the last day of school for the Reed Union School District. The Tiburon Peninsula Chamber of Commerce closed the street to traffic for live music from resident Peter Gillespie’s class-rock cover band Tiburon Local Band and children’s activities including face-painting, as well as food and drinks from local restaurants. The chamber will host a second Friday Night on Main on Aug. 21. (Ted McDonnell / For The Ark)
