After 10 months of deliberation, Tiburon approved a public-art project to install 15 faux street signs bearing positive messages from downtown to Blackie’s Pasture.
The Town Council voted 3-0 April 15 in favor of Scott Froschauer’s “The Word on the Street” public-art exhibit. Froschauer is tentatively set to install the signs sometime in May, and they will remain on display for six months.
Signs will span from the downtown Tiburon Ferry Terminal to Blackie’s Pasture, placed along the Old Rail Trail and lineal parks. Each fixture will have a QR code linking to an online map with all sign locations across town to create a scavenger-hunt experience and encourage residents and visitors to explore parks and public spaces.
The signs will be placed away from streets and positioned not to interfere with car traffic, and sign locations can be adjusted if needed. Read the complete story in our e-edition, or SUBSCRIBE NOW for home delivery and access to the digital replica.
