Tiburon’s recent townwide celebrations have been set to the soundtrack of local DJ Yuka Yu. Those attending the town’s inaugural Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Festival in May or June’s Friday Nights on Main festival that kicked off summer may have caught a set by the 38-year-old resident.
But she’s also busy expanding her reach to the greater Bay Area and beyond, spinning tracks at the Electric Daisy Carnival’s flagship festival in Las Vegas and at Salesforce’s Dreamforce conference in San Francisco. She was also among the late-night acts that take over the Big Easy during the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.
She’s also a frequent performer at San Francisco nightclubs, including Monarch, The Midway and the Lion’s Den, where she regularly holds sets as part of the Nu Tekno artists’ collaborative she founded in 2019.
