Tiburon explores beach volleyball, basketball at ex-sanitation ponds site

Tiburon plans to hire a landscape designer to explore installing beach volleyball and basketball courts and a shaded outdoor lounge at the site of the former sanitation ponds near McKegney Green.

 

The Town Council voted 4-0-1 during its May 21 meeting, with Councilmember Alice Fredericks abstaining, to direct staff to send out requests for proposals to landscape designers, who will then bid on how much it will cost to design the space. The council vote came on a recommendation from the Parks, Open Space and Trails Commission and feedback from a parks commission subcommittee studying the Richardson Bay Lineal Park system, which spans from Blackie’s Pasture to South of the Knoll Park.
