Tiburon Peninsula Little League's 12-and-under All-Stars are unbeaten through two rounds of the District 3 tournament's bracket play, shutting out San Rafael 7-0 on July 2 and edging Novato South 2-1 on July 5. Tiburon plays Mill Valley at 5:30 p.m. July 8.
The No. 2 seed sent Tiburon into the bracket with a first-round bye after a 3-1 pool-play finish. Ari Dodds, Luke Isaacson and William Dollard combined on the shutout of San Rafael. Benjamin Casey went 3-for-3 with an RBI double in the first inning, and Cole Peters added a two-run home run in the third. Against Novato South, Diego Sayle's RBI single gave Tiburon a second-inning lead. Novato South tied it in the fourth, but Calum Van Pelt's go-ahead double won it in the bottom of the same inning. Dodds and Isaacson combined to strike out 12.
Tiburon's 10U team beat Ross Valley 6-5 on July 6 to stay alive in the loser's bracket, scoring the go-ahead run in the top of the fifth after the teams were tied 5-5. Tiburon plays Mill Valley at 5 p.m. July 7.
Tiburon led 1-0 after the first inning on a Mac Cabeal RBI double. Ross Valley tied it. Tiburon then went ahead 4-1 in the third on an error and a Nick Morse RBI single. Ross Valley scored four runs in the bottom of the third to reclaim a 5-4 lead, before Cabeal's RBI single tied it again in the fourth. Cabeal went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, and Rex Davenport and Morse each had three hits. Ryan Lambert struck out four over 2⅔ innings before Davenport and Cabeal each pitched scoreless relief.
The win followed a 2-7 loss to San Francisco National on July 3 and a 13-2 elimination-game win over San Francisco American on July 4, in which Tiburon scored eight runs in the second inning.
Tiburon's 11U team, seeded No. 11 after an 0-4 pool-play finish, saw its season end at 0-6 overall. Tiburon lost its bracket opener 3-2 to Novato South on July 1 — Becket Boznanski struck out six over 3⅔ innings, and Calder Bowse's RBI single had tied the game in the fourth before Novato South scored the go-ahead run in the fifth. That sent Tiburon into an elimination game against Gallinas Valley on July 4, which it lost 7-2 despite two hits apiece from Camden Rosoff, Jeffrey Dobkins, Andrew Winokur and William Diemer; Gallinas Valley built an early lead on a wild pitch and a Tiburon error and never gave it back.
