Candidates for Tamalpais high school district board talk budget at forum


The Tamalpais Union High School District’s budget woes dominated discussion at an Oct. 8 forum featuring the four candidates running for three seats on the district’s board of trustees. The candidates — film producer and environmental activist Barbara McVeigh, 50; Tiburon resident and economic and housing analyst Dan Oppenheim, 44; English teacher and former lawyer Cynthia Roenisch, 53; and commercial real-estate specialist and financial advisor Kevin Saavedra, 47 — are each vying for a four-year term on the board. The three who come out on top in the Nov. 6 election will replace incumbents Michael Futterman, Laura Anderson and Chuck Ford, who all declined to run for an additional term.
