The staff at Squalo Vino expected a quiet start when the wine-and-beer tasting room opened its Main Street doors in the beginning of October. However, one of its first full days in business coincided with the annual Tiburon Wine Festival at nearby Point Tiburon Plaza, bringing a steady flow of wine enthusiasts through its doors.

“We were aware of the festival but didn’t really know what to expect,” says General Manager Kelly Barrett. “We were at full capacity all day long. It was really hectic but fun with high energy.”

Squalo Vino — “wine shark” in Italian, a nod to Tiburon’s own name, which is Spanish for shark — is located at 34 Main St., adjacent to Salt & Pepper restaurant.
