Traffic-busting bus program to return next school year

School buses will be back in operation at reduced capacity this fall to begin the Reed Union district’s 2021-2022 term — assuming there’s no significant resurgence of COVID-19. Prices for the annual passes, which will be on sale May 17-July 15, will remain unchanged at $315 each way per child. The Tiburon Peninsula Traffic Relief Joint Powers Authority board of directors, which operates the Yellow Bus Challenge pass-subsidy program, made the decision at its April 15 teleconference meeting. Though officials stressed the picture could change before the start of school Aug. 17, as of now buses will only be allowed to operate at two-thirds capacity so children can be safely distanced.
