At annual meeting, Belvedere to honor citizens of the year

For Peyton Stein, volunteering doesn’t have to mean sitting on a board or handing out turkeys during Thanksgiving. It can be any small act that requires an extra step to help the community. “I think if everybody does a little something — even if it’s take flowers to a neighbor who’s sick — I feel like that’s what we’re here for,” Stein says. “Every town to me is a village.” Stein — or “Petey” to those who know her — was named Belvedere’s Citizen of the Year for 2018 for the decades of volunteer work she’s done on the Tiburon Peninsula. She will be honored alongside Molly Hofmann, who was named Belvedere’s Citizen of the Year Emerita, at the city’s 40th annual Town Meeting at 7 p.m. Jan. 16 in the Belvedere Community Center.
