New rules help Tiburon improve to its first A grade in annual tobacco report
Formally banning the sale of tobacco products and extending its smoking and vaping ban has earned Tiburon high marks from the American Lung Association. The town scored its first-ever A grade in the association’s yearly report on tobacco policies, up from a C in the two previous years. It joins Belvedere at the top of the class; the city held on to its A grade for the third consecutive year. The association issued its 17th annual state of Tobacco Control report on Jan. 30, giving grades to all 50 states in the country and, within California, to the state’s 58 counties and 482 cities.
