Plans for public lane at Artist’s View stall over concerns from Belvedere neighbors

A new public lane planned for an undeveloped lot on Belvedere’s southernmost tip featuring expansive views of San Francisco Bay has been met with opposition from nearby homeowners, who say building the footpath would ruin the space’s natural beauty and attract disruptive visitors. The outcry prompted the Belvedere City Council at its April 8 meeting to delay approving a design proposal and feasibility study for the lane and instead kick the project back to the Parks and Open Space Committee to solicit additional public input.
