Reed Union School District students held steady on the state’s English and math tests in 2025-2026 and continued to outscore students across Marin County and California by wide margins.

Some 80.7% of Reed district students met or exceeded grade-level standards in English and 78.8% did the same in math on the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress, according to results the state released Oct. 15. Both figures were essentially unchanged from 2024-2025, when 80.9% and 78.9% met the mark. The district’s socioeconomically disadvantaged students lost ground, falling to 37.8% in English from about 53%.

Statewide, 49.3% of students met or exceeded standards on the English test and 38.4% in math, up 0.5 and 1.1 percentage points, respectively. Marin students performed better than the state average, with 61.8% meeting or exceeding standards in English and 54.5% doing so in math.
