A boutique fitness studio will fill the long-vacant storefront next to the CVS/pharmacy in downtown Tiburon, the second fitness business the Planning Commission has approved in as many months.

The commission voted 4-0 on Oct. 14 to let Pelican Pro Fitness open a 1,800-square-foot studio at 1599 Tiburon Blvd., with Commissioner Jeff Tsai absent. No one spoke during public comment.

Owner Nick Price, who is also the CEO of Price Family Dealerships, which his parents, Tom and Gwen Price, own, told The Ark after the meeting he aims to open as soon as the town’s permitting process allows. He told commissioners he subleases the space from CVS and has held the lease for some time. The building’s owner, Zelinsky Properties, which also owns Ark Row and other downtown buildings, signed off on the sublease, Nick Price said.

The membership- and appointment-based studio will offer one-on-one personal training and limited weekly group classes from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, within the hours of the CVS store next door, which is open 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays and 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Sundays.
