Locals launch effort to provide food assistance to Marin City families

A group of local residents has organized to help deliver food to Marin City students during the coronavirus pandemic. The effort, dubbed Bags of Love, started when Tiburon resident Dana Linker Steele heard that David Finnane, the principal of Bayside Martin Luther King Jr. Academy — one of two schools in Sausalito-Marin City School District — had raised money and purchased canned goods and other non-perishable items to support families at the school. Those goods were combined with dairy, fruit and meat supplied by the SF-Marin Food Bank and given to 80 Bayside MLK families in need of food assistance during the coronavirus school closures.
