Bay Area watercolorists to display works in new Belvedere-Tiburon Library exhibit




More than two dozen Bay Area artists will display their paintings in the Belvedere-Tiburon Library’s latest art exhibit, “Contemporary Watercolors: Pushing Boundaries.”


The show opens Nov. 16, with an artists’ reception from 6 to 8 p.m., and runs through Jan. 11. The 39 works by 27 artists are done in diverse styles ranging from detailed figuratives and colorful abstracts to still-life botanicals and urban paintings.

“Contemporary Watercolors: Pushing Boundaries” runs Nov. 16-Jan. 11 in the art gallery at the Belvedere-Tiburon Library, 1501 Tiburon Blvd.

• Artists’ reception: 6-8 p.m. Nov. 16.

• Cost: Exhibit and reception are free.

• Hours: 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays-Sundays.

The library will also hold a “Paint ’n’ Sip” session with watercolorist Sarah Haba 6-8 p.m. Dec. 4. Haba will present slides of watercolor masterpieces with commentary and demonstrate watercolor techniques from concept to completed painting. All supplies are included, and no experience is necessary; reserve a spot online.
