Several years ago, Belvedere’s Brian Higgins was set to exhibit some of his paintings at a gallery in New York City. He boxed up three of his works and shipped them off, but when he and his wife, Rebekka, arrived at the gallery, they learned his paintings had never left San Francisco.

Determined to not let the opportunity go to waste, Higgins improvised. He decided to paint live at the gallery, drawing a crowd that asked questions and made comments.

He plans to incorporate live painting into his solo exhibit, “Evoke,” at Tiburon Town Hall, running through April 30. There will be an artist’s reception 6-8 p.m. March 10, and Higgins will paint live noon-4 p.m. April 18.
