Belvedere gives final nod to $14.22M budget

Belvedere has adopted a $14.22-million budget that prioritizes fortification of the Beach Road seawall and levee and increases funding for legal expenses amid ongoing lawsuits challenging the city’s construction- time-limit fines.

 

The City Council voted unanimously at its June 9 meeting to formally approve the fiscal 2025-2026 budget, which showed minimal increases in both revenue and expenses from the draft reviewed in May. The new fiscal year begins July 1.

 

The projected expenditures against $11.38 million in revenue result in a $2.84 million deficit that will be covered by withdrawals from the city’s general and critical-infrastructure funds.
