Bus for aftercare programs to continue next school year, but St. Hilary route canceled

A bus pilot program serving St. Hilary School will end after one year because of low ridership, but aftercare service for Reed Union School District students will continue into next school year.

 

The Tiburon Peninsula Traffic Alliance board voted 5-0 March 10 to implement both decisions for the 2026-2027 school year. Belvedere Mayor Sally Wilkinson and Tiburon Vice Mayor Isaac Nikfar were absent; Tiburon Town Manager Greg Chanis participated as the town’s alternate member.

 

Traffic Alliance Program Manager Leilah Gilligan said after the meeting that bus operations next year would use five buses — the same number used in previous years for school-bus service — down from the current six.
