Club must get pickleball permission again after town error

The Tiburon Peninsula Club will have to go back to Tiburon for permission to allow pickleball after the town failed to adequately notify neighbors of the first permit hearing.

 

The Planning Commission rehearing is scheduled for March 27, Town Manager Greg Chanis said in an email. The club can allow play in the meantime, he said.

 

The commission in December approved the conditional use permit for the private club to allow pickleball on one of its tennis courts, though it asked the club to return in six months for further review and to pursue noise-mitigation efforts for an uncovered fourth wall.

 

However, some neighbors say they didn’t know about the hearing and didn’t get a chance to object.
