Santa Rosa resident Alex DeGeorgey, strolling past Caffe Acri and Bungalow Kitchen in downtown Tiburon with a Nikon Z camera slung across his body, is taking a breather from the tour he and 30 of his colleagues just went on of Angel Island State Park.

 

After a ferry from San Francisco to Angel Island, the group bused back to the city across the Golden Gate Bridge with a pitstop at the scenic overlook.

 

Make no mistake: It’s just as much of a work outing as it is a break from the work.

 

The 53-year-old is an archaeologist who attended the Society for American Archaeology’s annual meeting in San Francisco from April 29 to May 3.
