Richard ‘Dick’ DeNezza

Richard “Dick” DeNezza passed away on August 13th at 88 years young. He joins his late wife, Patricia DeNezza, after being apart for nearly 25 years.

He was born in 1938 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Rose and Eugene. He graduated from Central Catholic High School, then attended University of Pittsburgh where he earned his bachelor’s in electrical engineering and his MBA.

He served in the Air Force as a captain and later joined the National Security Agency and Control Data Corporation. Dick had various careers working as a real-estate developer and other entrepreneurial ventures. Pat often said as soon as he made all the mistakes in one business, it was time to start a new one. His job often took him internationally, where he worked in Germany, Russia, Japan, China and Hungary.

Dick moved to Tiburon in 1978 where he and Pat raised their family. He served as a member and president of the Rotary Club of Tiburon-Belvedere, and was a devout member of St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Parish and served as the president of their Men’s Club.

Dick will be remembered for his optimism, charitable heart, faith, and love of family. He is remembered by his three children: Christine, Matt, and Tim, and 11 grandchildren. He will be missed every day. In his memory, consider making a donation to St. Jude’s or Tunnel to Towers.
