Metal bird sculpture flies in holding pattern after public pushback

Tiburon’s Heritage & Arts Commission is searching for a new home for a donor-funded sculpture of two metal birds after residents objected to both sites it had proposed.
The commission voted Aug. 25 to look for other sites. Sausalito-based artist Nicki Adani had proposed two: a temporary installation at South of the Knoll Park or a permanent one on the patch of Shoreline Park lawn nearest the Tiburon ferry landing.
Mock-up photos of the Shoreline Park site circulated online in July, drawing objections from some residents.
Commissioners Jaleh Etemad and Trish Ferrin agreed to form an ad hoc committee to scout new locations.
