Residents can ring in the holidays at downtown festival

Tiburon will kick off its holiday festivities Dec. 3 with its annual family-friendly festival in downtown.

The event, hosted by the Tiburon Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, runs 2-5 p.m. at Fountain Plaza, lower Main Street and Ark Row.

“We can all agree this year the entire community is ready to come out and celebrate the holidays,” said DeAnn Biss, executive director of the chamber. “This is the favorite event of the Chamber of Commerce, because it truly brings all ages together, whether they’re residents or visitors to the town of Tiburon.”

Fountain Plaza will host face-painting, holiday crafts, a bake sale from Belvedere-Hawthorne Nursery Schools and hot cocoa and popcorn courtesy of the Rotary Club of Tiburon-Belvedere. There will also be free toddler-train rides around the plaza from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Lower Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic for free horse-and-carriage rides on one side, between the traffic circles near the entrance to Main Street parking lot and the first block of Paradise Drive.
