Wildflower Watch: Silver lupine among the wildflowers in bloom at Rodeo Beach

Don’t miss spring at Rodeo Beach, just 13 or so miles from the Tiburon Peninsula. Silver lupine, Lupinus albifrons, is in bloom on the hillside just above the beach, an easy walk. This is a marvelous wildflower.

 

Silver lupine enriches the soil by holding atmospheric nitrogen and nurtures a relationship with other flora, such as morning glory, sun cups, checkerbloom, mule’s ear sunflower, scarlet pimpernel, coast Indian paintbrush, footsteps of spring and other wildflowers now in bloom on the hillside.
