Paradise Cay good Samaritans rescue dad and son from capsized kayak

A group of good Samaritans that included Olympic gold-medalist skier Jonny Moseley rescued a father and his young son after their kayak capsized off the shore of Paradise Cay last week. The two were shaken but apparently able to warm up and return home following the harrowing experience July 18. Jeremy Kunkel and his friend Colin Hunt were housesitting on St. Thomas Way in Paradise Cay when just after 6 p.m. that evening Hunt saw something out in the water from the kitchen. “He said: ‘I think there’s some people swimming out there,’” Kunkel says.
