Tiburon council backs creation of diversity, inclusion committee
The Tiburon Town Council has given its preliminary support to forming a new citizens’ advisory committee that would be tasked with addressing issues of diversity and inclusion within the community. As currently described, the committee would consist of all five councilmembers and five members of the public. The committee would hold public meetings and ultimately make recommendations to the Town Council. While the council didn’t get into the specifics of exactly what issues the committee would address, it was able to agree on that general structure of the committee at its Sept. 16 teleconference meeting and instructed staff to craft a resolution that would formally establish that committee. That resolution is expected to come back to a future council meeting for further discussion and a vote.
