Classics in the cove


Against the backdrop of the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, sailors competed July 15 in the Belvedere Classic & Great San Francisco Schooner Race, held annually by the San Francisco Yacht Club in Belvedere. Club member Jock MacLean, on his 48-foot Bird boat Oriole, won first place in the classic yacht division, while father-daughter Terry and Lindsey Klaus in their 50-footer, Brigadoon, from the St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco, won the schooner division.
