Picks of the Week: Sample vintages at Tiburon Wine Festival; Jazz piano trio at Old St. Hilary’s Landmark
Sample vintages at Tiburon Wine Festival: The 43rd annual Tiburon Wine Festival runs 1-4 p.m. Oct. 3 at Point Tiburon Plaza, hosted by the Tiburon Peninsula Chamber of Commerce. Sample vintages from 60 established and small-batch wineries from across the state, along with food from 10 local eateries and live music from Mercy & The Heartbeats. Attendees must be 21 or older and bring valid government-issued photo identification. No infants, strollers or animals are allowed on event grounds. The festival will proceed rain or shine with no refunds. Proceeds support free chamber events such as the Tiburon Holiday Festival and Friday Nights on Main. Jazz piano trio at Old St. Hilary’s Landmark: The Ben Stolorow Trio will perform at 4 p.m. Oct. 4 at Old St. Hilary’s Landmark in Tiburon. Stolorow, a member of the faculty of The Jazzschool in Berkeley, is a pianist with many influences, from Bach to Thelonious Monk and McCoy Tyner of the John Coltrane Quartet. Tickets are $20-$25 in advance online or at the Landmarks office at The Boardwalk shopping center, $25-$30 at the door if not sold out.
