Tiburon OKs $360,000 contract for traffic study

Updated: May 23

Tiburon will spend up to $360,000 for its planned traffic study of three major town arteries, with the goal of having results to analyze by next summer.

The Town Council voted 3-0 at its May 15 meeting to award the contract for the study to construction engineering consultant Parametrix, which has a local office in Sausalito, over two other bidders. The project manager will be David Parisi, a longtime civil and traffic engineer with experience in Tiburon Peninsula transportation matters.

The traffic study will focus on three major town roads: Tiburon Boulevard from Blackfield Drive to Beach Road; Trestle Glen Boulevard between Tiburon Boulevard and Paradise Drive; and Paradise Drive between Main Street and Trestle Glen Boulevard. It will also examine traffic patterns at Reed Union School District schools and St. Hilary Catholic School during peak pick-up and drop-off times.
