Diana Goodman

My role at The Ark

Diana is The Ark's copy editor and calendar editor. She helps make sure every story is accurate and clean before it reaches print, and she puts together the community calendar. Send event listings to her at calendar@thearknewspaper.com.

Background

Diana has been The Ark’s copy editor since March 2013 and also writes its entertainment calendar. She was a copy editor at the Marin Independent Journal from 2001 to 2006 and before that at the San Francisco Chronicle in 2000. She holds a bachelor’s degree in cinema and journalism from San Francisco State University. Outside The Ark, she is a producer, researcher and co-host of ThirtyTwentyTen, a podcast about the film, music, TV and pop culture of this week 30, 20 and 10 years ago. From 2002 to 2016 she ran the humor site Not Without My Handbag, known for its “bad baby names” collections, and moderated its forum of 9,000 registered users. She lives in Pacifica with her husband, Mikel, and their Chihuahua, Steve.

Our standards

Ark journalists avoid conflicts of interest, refuse gifts, favors, free travel and special treatment, and correct information throughout the life of a story. Read The Ark’s ethics policy and corrections policy.
