Picks of the Week: Halloween events across the Tiburon Peninsula

Scary at the Berry at Strawberry rec center

The Strawberry Recreation District will hold its Scary at the Berry Halloween celebration from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 24. Kids are encouraged to dress in costume for the event, held at the district’s East Strawberry Drive center. They can trick-or-treat through several decorated, themed areas, including a “scary barnyard,” a “Harry Potter” area, glow-in-the-dark tunnel and more. Food will be available to purchase from several food trucks, weather permitting. Tickets are $5 for kids ages 2 and older, free for kids under 2 and for accompanying parents and guardians. Strawberry Village Spooktacular. 3-8 p.m. Oct. 25. Strawberry Village shopping center, Redwood Highway frontage road, Strawberry. Trick-or-treating, pet costume contest and outdoor screening of “Hocus Pocus.” Free. strawberryvillage.com.

 

Ranch Halloween event features magic, games

The Ranch, Tiburon and Belvedere’s joint recreation agency, will hold its annual Halloween Carnival from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Oct. 26 at Belvedere Community Park. The family event is designed for children ages 2-12 and will feature a magic show, carnival games, pumpkin decorating and, of course, lots of treats. Kids can show off their costumes ahead of Halloween Oct. 31, whether they’re a scary monster, a superhero or a K-pop demon hunter. Tickets are $20 for residents ages 2 and up and $25 for non-residents; adults and infants are free. Tickets must be purchased in advance. 415-435-4355 or theranchtoday.org.
