Tiburon's New Morning Cafe closes ahead of building demolition


New Morning Cafe, which has been popular with locals and visitors alike since about 1970, closed on May 12 ahead of a planned $2.5 million renovation to the restaurant’s Tiburon Boulevard building. The 1930s-era building that houses both New Morning and the Grass Shack ice cream shop at 1696 and 1694 Tiburon Blvd., respectively, is slated to be demolished soon to make way for a new 2½-story retail and residential condo complex.
