Six winners selected for Belvedere photo contest


While walking home one evening last month with husband Jens, Leela Voges was struck by the contrast of the black sky and the bright lights of Old St. Hilary’s Landmark. Thinking it looked like an X-ray of something beautiful, she snapped a picture, which she called “Lovely Bones.” “It’s a true icon of our town,” said Voges, who lives above the deconsecrated Catholic church on the hillside above downtown Tiburon At the annual meeting of the Belvedere Community Foundation on Nov. 19, the photo was announced the winner in the black-and-white category of the foundation’s 19th annual Online Photography Contest. Voges was one of six winners — and among the four who have previously won prizes in the competition.
