Tiburon Peninsula businesses take different approaches to expanded operations
A host of Marin businesses allowed to re-open or expand operations beginning Sept. 15 when the county moved from California’s purple tier-1 status, or “widespread” risk of coronavirus transmission, to red tier-2 status, or “substantial” risk under the state’s new four-tier framework for managing the virus and reopening the economy. On the Tiburon Peninsula, businesses that qualify for tier-2 reopenings are not taking a one-size-fits-all approach. While some — including gyms and personal-care services — were ready to welcome customers back indoors, several restaurants said they would likely hold off on indoor dining for a while longer.
