Tiburon is roughly 2,700 miles from Marblehead, Massachusetts, but Wayne George says the two towns have a lot in common, including a tradition of and appreciation for maritime culture.

George is the owner of F.L. Woods, a clothing brand with maritime and nautical inspirations that he says has become a mainstay on Massachusetts’ North Shore.

“We’re a tradition in Marblehead,” George says. “Like, people come from all over to come to this old, creaky store that’s been in the same building since the ’30s, and they know that they can always find something great … for Mother’s Day or for Father’s Day or for themselves.”

The store offers an array of men’s and women’s clothing, including quarter-zip sweaters and mariner jackets as well as shorts, hats and belts, plus mementos like postcards and navigational charts.

The Main Street outpost will be overseen by George’s son and Tiburon resident Josh George and Josh’s partner, Marie Bergsund, the granddaughter of former Tiburon Mayor Joan Bergsund.
